This is an actual flatearther. Let me prove it. Do you actually believe the Earth is flat? Yes, that's true. But by the end of this video, that may not be true anymore. Because we've planned the most elaborate, large scale, and extensive experiment to prove the Earth is round without a shadow of a doubt.
Then we're going to lie detect him again at the end of the day to see if it changed his mind. Because it is hard to prove that the Earth is round from the ground. It is. I mean, even if it was flat, there's hills and mountains and lots of curvy parts. The only way to see the Earth's natural state is to go to the water.
You've never been to the ocean before, right? I haven't been to the ocean before, so this is a sight to see. I will admit it looks a little bit flat. I'm not even going to lie. There's a way we can test that. If you were to take a boat out to the horizon, we could agree that it would eventually disappear, right? Yeah. We won't be able to see it.
Like the boats in Japan, we cannot see from this coast. There's two reasons that the boat might disappear. One, it could just disappear and slowly but surely vanish cuz it's too far away. Or maybe it's getting hidden behind the Earth's curvature. And in that case, the curvature would actually start to obstruct the view of the boat so that it would disappear bottom first and then the middle would disappear and then the top would disappear.
So if we were to see that, it would be very strong evidence of a round earth. You could say if we saw that, that would be the case. But I don't think that's what we're going to see. We kind of just going to see it get further and further away until we can't see it anymore. But you would need a very tall boat to do that, which is exactly what we have.
And I stuck my friends on it. Ew, the poop deck is stinky. Ew. Boys, can you wave at us real quick? Hey. Hi, Jack. Hi, Seb. These are my friends Colin and Josh. And this is Captain Matt. Have you ever done anything like this before? No. I First time, so I've been out here, but not uh on a mission like this.
We've actually got a bunch of telescopes over here that are recording and that we can look through to make sure that we can see the boat the entire time. Before we even get started, the audience is probably wondering how you actually became a flatearther. I think my process into becoming a flatearther is just like being curious, being open uh to other ideas, even if they do sound crazy.
I'm not going to shoot them down immediately. I will admit that like I haven't gone a lot into the signs. Growing up in Omaha, I don't know, I didn't really travel a lot and so that's kind of my looking left, right, up and down and kind of seeing that I don't see a curb. Guys, we are like really getting off the coast right now.
I would say we're still only about like 500 ft or so. We just keep it like in this on this course. Josh, say y I look like Mickey Mouse. Dude, wait. These waves are huge. You know what else is huge? This actually isn't my first experiment with Seb. We tried taking a weather balloon into space and live streaming what the camera on the balloon saw into a VR headset that Seb wore on the ground a couple of years ago.
I didn't see any curve in that video and so just like reinforced the idea that um the earth could be flat. We interviewed some other flat earthers as well to potentially be in this video. The earth is flat. I believe it's flat. The earth is is a a flat stationary plane. But none of them seemed as open as Sebett to having their mind changed.
I would open myself to that opportunity of being proven wrong. He really is the world's chillest flatearther. How's everything going for you guys? It's great. We're about to eat lunch. Amazing. All right, see you guys. Thank you. Okay, I got Lunchly. Lunchly, is that all you pack? No, no, no, no. I got prime, too. Don't worry.
See had previously told me over the phone that if we were going to do this, one thing that would really convince him is if the boat disappearing behind the horizon perfectly lined up with the math of exactly how far it should have to go if the earth was round for it to disappear. I actually did do the math for you so that you would know based on the curvature of the earth, what people are saying is the curvature of the earth, how far away that the boat would have to get.
So do you remember the Pythagorean theorem? A little bit. A little bit. The Pythagorean theorem is something we all learned in 8th grade, but it's something that we can apply when thinking about horizon lines. A^2 + B²= C². So this circle is the Earth if the Earth was round. That's the center. This would be us. And this H is for height.
So this would be 6 ft off the ground cuz this is approximately 6 ft above sea level. So that's roughly 6 ft. This D is how far away we can see. This is the horizon. Okay. This is R, the radius of the Earth. R, the radius of the Earth, plus our height, and D, the distance. That makes a right triangle.
Does that make sense so far? I'm following. So then if you just plug in all the numbers, the distance equals out to 15,837.67 ft or that converts to 3.0 miles. So if you look it up, most people will say when you're standing on the beach, you can see about 3 miles to the horizon. And that's based on this map. So 3.
0 miles away is the end of where we can see the ocean. So, at 3 m, the boat will be on that line. The boat will be sticking up like this. So, you'll still be able to see it. Now, how much farther does it have to go before it disappears completely behind the horizon? The cabin part of the sailboat comes up exactly 5 1/2 ft off the water. So, at 3.
0 mi, it will still be fully visible. It's only after this point that the horizon line will start covering the bottom of it. You plug in all the numbers again and in this case you get 15,163.42 ft or 2.87 mi. So over the next 2.87 mi it should disappear bottom first until at the end of the 2.87 mi the whole cabin of the boat will be gone. So in total 3.0 plus 2.
87 mi is a total of 5.87 87 miles out that the boat has to go for the entire cabin to fully disappear in the lens of the telescope, which is exactly how far out Captain Matt is heading to. How's everything going? Is it all going well? Yeah, we're making good decent progress. How far out are you guys going? Like, what point into the ocean are you guys going? How many miles away? 5.87.
That's That's how far we're going. Straight off the beach. 5.87, guys. 5.87. Is that them? I think that's them. Josh has got something to say. All right. So, if the bottom of the boat disappears, then guess what? The earth is not flat. And if the bottom of the boat doesn't disappear, the earth is flat.
Wait, is that good? Are you sure the earth is not flat? I'm pretty sure the earth is not flat. Dude, tell me that was the funniest thing you've ever heard in your life. Yeah, we probably shouldn't annoy Captain Matt too much. Let's let him lock in. It's also at this point I should probably tell you about the second part of the experiment.
Cuz if the boat disappears bottom first, that's one thing. But it would be even crazier if we could increase our height, get a little higher, and then see the bottom of the boat again because we're seeing over the Earth's curvature and then see the horizon line move further back, which is why we have this building. So, we've rented out the room on the top right floor.
Once the bottom of the boat is gone behind the horizon, we're going to call them and tell them to stop moving the boat completely. And then we're going to go up to the top floor of the building and look out at the boat again with the telescope. And from the elevated height, we should be able to see over the curvature of the Earth and see the entirety of the boat again.
Seb, we've spent so much money on this video. Do you think people should subscribe? Uh yeah, Jack's great. And if you subscribe this year, your name will literally get sent into space. Some people like Seb here maybe don't believe in that possibility. However, you should subscribe because your name will literally be sent into space using radio waves and aliens can find out about you.
So, if you're interested in that, you should hit that subscribe button. See is definitely an interesting guy. I've never met a flat-earther like him. I don't really know why he believes the earth is flat. Everything is about like Antarctica. I think it is fairly fishy that like people aren't allowed to kind of just like go there randomly and stuff like that.
I feel like holding a lot of stuff back. The United Nations logo kind of being basically what this is. If it were kind of Yeah. behind like a government conspiracy sort of a thing, it could be something that like they're aware of. I had to make sure he thought that maybe there was a chance he was right if there was any way I was going to be able to change his mind. Here.
Josh is calling. Josh is calling. You keep looking. Yo, what's up, buddy? We're 3 miles out. 3 mi out. Okay, it looks like you guys are right on the horizon, which is exactly what the map predicted. Oh, any further out, either you're going to start disappearing just in general, or you'll start disappearing bottom first.
This is the moment of truth. So, this was where the boat should start disappearing behind the horizon. But after being so open to the idea of the earth being flat, it was at this moment that I started to get scared. I feel like the bottom is starting to disappear a little bit. I'm not even going to lie, but I I don't want to have confirmation bias here.
You tell me what you see. It does look like it's on top of whatever I guess the horizon and stuff, but I can still see a lot of the boat. This is This is intense. I'm nervous. I don't want my beliefs of the earth to be questioned, you know? But if they are, they are. You know what I mean? I mean, I'm ready to change my mind.
Jack, did you run the math right on this? Yeah, we ran the math right multiple times. I promise. Just making sure. Listen, I know the Earth is round obviously, but I was anxious. Why wasn't the bottom of the boat disappearing yet? We made it past 3 miles. But then Josh told us this on the phone. Hello, Josh. I don't know. What? It's good.
Can I put you on I'm putting you on speaker. Wait, wait. Don't put him on speaker. Can I talk to him? Oh, what? Oh, I got to save the numbers, man. I want to talk to him. I want to talk to him. I want to talk to him. It is what it is. Fine. Put him on speaker. I don't care. No, no, no. It's okay. It's okay. It's okay. You're on speaker.
All right. What's up, everyone? Hi. We are um we're so we were we were tacking towards the north right now, so we haven't made as much progress uh away from the coast uh on this most recent turn, but we're about to turn and really make progress away from the coast. And then we'll probably be around the point in like, you know, like 30 minutes or or something like that.
We're still not there yet. Okay. You're not there yet. Okay. Cuz I was getting nervous cuz you guys haven't really disappeared. the bottom yet. Y'all are using codes. I was getting so nervous. Now Seb thought maybe we were deceiving him, but I just had to have faith in our experiment. We knew it was going to work.
The Earth is round. But this is when I came up with an idea for how we were going to make sure Seb trusted us. When the lie detector guy comes back to my house later, not only will we ask him if he changed his mind, you can put Josh and Colin in the lie detector and then you can test them and be like, "Were you actually going 5.
87 eight, seven miles out. You can also interrogate me and Bella and anybody else here who you want to ask questions to to make sure that we weren't deceiving you at any point during the day. Then we'll see if you changed your mind. Right. I really want Seb to trust us. So hopefully that makes him feel better.
That's also why we've got two telescopes here. We've got the optical telescope and we've got this one, the Sea Star Telescope. Shout out to ZWO for gifting us this and for the support on the video. We've got that connected to the phone and that's how you guys are able to see it. But I know you trust this telescope more because there's no way I could possibly digitally alter it, right? Yeah.
But this telescope works actually so well. It's honestly very amazing how I'm able to just connect it to this app and then sort of joystick it around throughout the video. See it was definitely skeptical. Just another great reason I'm glad he's going to be able to lie detect us at the end, too. I need him to trust us.
What do you think they're doing right now? We're We're almost to 5.87 miles. And again, I don't know what's going on over there. I don't know what they're thinking. I don't see that like edge go away like at all. That dude, that's like cuz it's consistently above water. Do you know how much farther out they have to go? I just had to have faith in science.
The boat was starting to wobble up and down behind the horizon, but Seb still wasn't convinced. They're saying they're almost at the point. Come. That's disappeared. Not yet. That's disappeared. Oscillating and stuff. Dude, there's no cabin. I'm going to be totally honest with you. I haven't seen the bottom of the boat in a long time. I'm going to just be honest, but let Yeah, the cabin is being more and more difficult to see, but I don't know.
I'm interested in seeing like I guess with more zoom options. Where's the binoculars? They They'll call us. They'll call us when they're at the point. Yeah. Yeah, it's gone. Yeah, it's gone. It's gone. See, come look. Come look. I mean, there's like an inch left cuz they're not at the point yet, but take a look.
I only see sail. What do you see? I don't see the cabin. I only see sail. We made it. We made it, guys. 5.87 miles. Exactly. See those buildings over there? Yeah. This is it. Those buildings are exactly 5.87 miles away. I'm going to give Jack and Seb a call. Hello. Hello. Yeah. What's up? We are at the point of contact. Okay.
In Seb, what do you see? I can see the sail. I don't see a cabin. The cabin has totally disappeared for us. But now we're going to go to the top floor and we're going to see if we can see it again. We are going to We are So we were still moving. We're the right distance. We're still like moving parallel with the coast, but we are stopping right now.
You're just going to stay the same distance. Same exact distance. We're going to same stay the same distance. Okay. What are you thinking right now? Yeah. I don't know. Yeah. I don't see a sail or I don't see a cabin. You don't see a cabin? All right, let's go up and see if we can see over the curve of the Earth. I'm very curious to see what we see up here. I am too.
Um I guess yeah, there is two parts to the equation. [Music] All righty, we made it. Oh my. Why are you nervous? Uh I guess I just don't want to see something that um don't want to see, I guess. But uh hard to tell the difference between anything. But um but like it is it's a different view. I could see the boat. Yeah, me too. All right, let's get this thing set up.
[Music] Um no, I don't know. Jeez, that's something else. It's a different view. Looks like it kind of appeared back in front of the horizon. I mean, it's really exciting when you can discover things for yourself, you know. It's my first real polygraph test. This is This is really cool. Not even going to lie, my hands are already really sweaty.
Before we ask him the final question for you guys to see. We want to make sure that he knows we didn't lie to him at all today. So, let's see. And while Seb is grilling us, I want to tell you about something. Did you lose faith in your experiment at any point during our test? Oh, no. No. True. That was honestly a close one. Doing this boat demonstration wasn't cheap, but thanks to Delete Me, the sponsor of this video, it was possible.
And with Delete Me, it's also possible for you to get your data out of hackers hands for them to stalk and harass you with. Did you exaggerate anything that we saw today to provide for a more satisfactory result in any way? No. True. See, I once made a video where I called a hundred celebrities to see who picked up and warned them that their numbers were leaked online because this is an issue I actually care about.
Here's me telling Mark Cuban. Hi, I'm just calling to let you know that your number is leaked online. I appreciate it. That was actually him that picked up. And whether he wanted to admit it or not, he should have been scared. Did that boat stop at 5.87 miles away from shore? Yes. Yes. True. True. It was so easy to find these celebrities numbers on sketchy websites and just give them a call.
If any of them were using Delete Me though, they wouldn't have had to worry as much about it because Delete Me pulls your number off of hundreds of these sites, keeping your data safe from bad people that can find it from these data brokers. There was a good 20 minute stretch where we thought that y'all were moving further and further away, but the boat did not appear to change height in any way.
A few moments later, we got a phone call from you letting us know that you weren't going further away, but instead further north. We are tacking towards the north right now. So, the size of the boat wouldn't change. So, we haven't made as much progress uh away from the coast.
Were you coded in any way to call and suggest that the boat wasn't moving any further away? No. No, definitely not. True. True. So, scan this QR code or go to joindeme.com/gordon. Use promo code Gordon at checkout for 20% off. That's joined me.com/gordon. Code Gordon. Thanks again to Delete Me for sponsoring this video. Did you have fun today? Yes. True. Okay. Good.
Good. Do you feel at this point that none of us have lied to you? Yes. True. At this point, Seb trusted us that there were no secret codes and nothing deceptive about the day. Did you come in expecting your mind to change? No. True. Were you expecting us to deceive you in any way? No. Why? Were you surprised with the results? Yes.
True. At this point in time, would you say that you now believe that the Earth is round? Yes. True. It was a pleasure doing business with you. Give him the flat earth. Rip it up. Rip it up. Rip it up. It's over. We're done with it. Rip it up. Let's go. I guess I'm now ready to go ahead and land on the uh not Oh my god.

Welcome to "The Chronically Online Algorithm"
1. Introduction: Your Guide to a Digital Wonderland
Welcome to "π¨π»πThe Chronically Online Algorithmπ½". From its header—a chaotic tapestry of emoticons and symbols—to its relentless posting schedule, the blog is a direct reflection of a mind processing a constant, high-volume stream of digital information. At first glance, it might seem like an indecipherable storm of links, videos, and cultural artifacts. Think of it as a living archive or a public digital scrapbook, charting a journey through a universe of interconnected ideas that span from ancient mysticism to cutting-edge technology and political commentary.
The purpose of this primer is to act as your guide. We will map out the main recurring themes that form the intellectual backbone of the blog, helping you navigate its vast and eclectic collection of content and find the topics that spark your own curiosity.
2. The Core Themes: A Map of the Territory
While the blog's content is incredibly diverse, it consistently revolves around a few central pillars of interest. These pillars are drawn from the author's "INTERESTORNADO," a list that reveals a deep fascination with hidden systems, alternative knowledge, and the future of humanity.
This guide will introduce you to the three major themes that anchor the blog's explorations:
* Esotericism & Spirituality
* Conspiracy & Alternative Theories
* Technology & Futurism
Let's begin our journey by exploring the first and most prominent theme: the search for hidden spiritual knowledge.
3. Theme 1: Esotericism & The Search for Hidden Knowledge
A significant portion of the blog is dedicated to Esotericism, which refers to spiritual traditions that explore hidden knowledge and the deeper, unseen meanings of existence. It is a path of self-discovery that encourages questioning and direct personal experience.
The blog itself offers a concise definition in its "map of the esoteric" section:
Esotericism, often shrouded in mystery and intrigue, encompasses a wide array of spiritual and philosophical traditions that seek to delve into the hidden knowledge and deeper meanings of existence. It's a journey of self-discovery, spiritual growth, and the exploration of the interconnectedness of all things.
The blog explores this theme through a variety of specific traditions. Among the many mentioned in the author's interests, a few key examples stand out:
* Gnosticism
* Hermeticism
* Tarot
Gnosticism, in particular, is a recurring topic. It represents an ancient spiritual movement focused on achieving salvation through direct, personal knowledge (gnosis) of the divine. A tangible example of the content you can expect is the post linking to the YouTube video, "Gnostic Immortality: You’ll NEVER Experience Death & Why They Buried It (full guide)". This focus on questioning established spiritual history provides a natural bridge to the blog's tendency to question the official narratives of our modern world.
4. Theme 2: Conspiracy & Alternative Theories - Questioning the Narrative
Flowing from its interest in hidden spiritual knowledge, the blog also encourages a deep skepticism of official stories in the material world. This is captured by the "Conspiracy Theory/Truth Movement" interest, which drives an exploration of alternative viewpoints on politics, hidden history, and unconventional science.
The content in this area is broad, serving as a repository for information that challenges mainstream perspectives. The following table highlights the breadth of this theme with specific examples found on the blog:
Topic Area Example Blog Post/Interest
Political & Economic Power "Who Owns America? Bernie Sanders Says the Quiet Part Out Loud"
Geopolitical Analysis ""Something UGLY Is About To Hit America..." | Whitney Webb"
Unconventional World Models "Flat Earth" from the interest list
This commitment to unearthing alternative information is further reflected in the site's organization, with content frequently categorized under labels like TRUTH and nwo. Just as the blog questions the past and present, it also speculates intensely about the future, particularly the role technology will play in shaping it.
5. Theme 3: Technology & Futurism - The Dawn of a New Era
The blog is deeply fascinated with the future, especially the transformative power of technology and artificial intelligence, as outlined in the "Technology & Futurism" interest category. It tracks the development of concepts that are poised to reshape human existence.
Here are three of the most significant futuristic concepts explored:
* Artificial Intelligence: The development of smart machines that can think and learn, a topic explored through interests like "AI Art".
* The Singularity: A hypothetical future point where technological growth becomes uncontrollable and irreversible, resulting in unforeseeable changes to human civilization.
* Simulation Theory: The philosophical idea that our perceived reality might be an artificial simulation, much like a highly advanced computer program.
Even within this high-tech focus, the blog maintains a sense of humor. In one chat snippet, an LLM (Large Language Model) is asked about the weather, to which it humorously replies, "I do not have access to the governments weapons, including weather modification." This blend of serious inquiry and playful commentary is central to how the blog connects its wide-ranging interests.
6. Putting It All Together: The "Chronically Online" Worldview
So, what is the connecting thread between ancient Gnosticism, modern geopolitical analysis, and future AI? The blog is built on a foundational curiosity about hidden systems. It investigates the unseen forces that shape our world, whether they are:
* Spiritual and metaphysical (Esotericism)
* Societal and political (Conspiracies)
* Technological and computational (AI & Futurism)
This is a space where a deep-dive analysis by geopolitical journalist Whitney Webb can appear on the same day as a video titled "15 Minutes of Celebrities Meeting Old Friends From Their Past." The underlying philosophy is that both are data points in the vast, interconnected information stream. It is a truly "chronically online" worldview, where everything is a potential clue to understanding the larger systems at play.
7. How to Start Your Exploration
For a new reader, the sheer volume of content can be overwhelming. Be prepared for the scale: the blog archives show thousands of posts per year (with over 2,600 in the first ten months of 2025 alone), making the navigation tools essential. Here are a few recommended starting points to begin your own journey of discovery:
1. Browse the Labels: The sidebar features a "Labels" section, the perfect way to find posts on specific topics. Look for tags like TRUTH and matrix for thematic content, but also explore more personal and humorous labels like fuckinghilarious!!!, labelwhore, or holyshitspirit to get a feel for the blog's unfiltered personality.
2. Check the Popular Posts: This section gives you a snapshot of what content is currently resonating most with other readers. It’s an excellent way to discover some of the blog's most compelling or timely finds.
3. Explore the Pages: The list of "Pages" at the top of the blog contains more permanent, curated collections of information. Look for descriptive pages like "libraries system esoterica" for curated resources, or more mysterious pages like OPERATIONNOITAREPO and COCTEAUTWINS=NAME that reflect the blog's scrapbook-like nature.
Now it's your turn. Dive in, follow the threads that intrigue you, and embrace the journey of discovery that "The Chronically Online Algorithm" has to offer.
